Treasures of the Grand Highway – Lost Recipes from Kabul to Kolkata food festival at K3, JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, starting July 30, 2016 till August 13, 2016.
Treasures of the Grand Highway is an earnest attempt by Executive Chef Vivek Bhatt and Chef Mohammad Asif, Junior Sous Chef at JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity to trace the rich culinary traditions along the world’s oldest trade route - Grand Trunk Road. The recipes are researched and curated from key cities on this highway including Kabul, Peshawar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Delhi, Banaras, Kolkata and more.
Highway food in India is all about finding the best dishes to eat, even when you are on the road. From the succulent tandoori paranthas to deluxe thalis – an assortment of vegetable curries, dal, roti, rice and desserts, discover the magic and excitement of foods served along the major highways as well as on roads less travelled with both Chefs' rich and exotic offerings.
“The idea is to recreate the magic and showcase the local weather beaten food from the highways packaged with rich culture and ambiance in the luxury of JW Marriott’s K3” – Chef Vivek Bhatt, Executive Chef
