I had thought I would go to Khorika for a meal, but when I was told that the quality had gone iffy and it was nothing more than a tourist trap, I chose Paradise – the parent of the recently deceased Delhi based Jakoi. Food was great as usual with a couple of disappointments – ilish paturi was actually basa paturi and two the restaurant did not serve pork. 

On the positive side, the pigeon curry, masor tenga and pitika were all great.

And I did have pork for dinner – from room service at the hotel there. Gahuri Aru Xaak (Assamese pork curry with local greens) was delicious and an enduring memory of Guwahati.
