Otto Infinto - the Mediterranean eatery, the precursor to Café Infinito did not work in the same location. So, over a year ago, this place launched its new avatar with a cosmetic change in seating arrangement in an attempt to give a more inclusive feel as opposed to the previous diner style enclosure. I have heard good things about this place so I land up here for lunch.

The menu has some usual European and Tex Mex dishes. I study the menu and order the dishes that sound interesting. Crab Bisque (Rs. 235) has a tomato broth that has no flavour of the sea, and crab that has to be fished out of the broth. No fun! Prawns Crackers (Rs. 325) are whole prawns inside a fried crisp exterior. The first time the dish is served, the coating is too oily and the prawns cold. The dish is sent back and when it comes back (obviously fried in a hotter oil) the prawns are overcooked. I just peel the outside and try to enjoy the prawns.

Arugula Goat Cheese Balsamic (Rs. 315) is good aragula with a small quantity of balsamic and even smaller quantity of goat cheese. I enjoy the fresh bite of aragula and move to the next dish, Cold Mezze Platter (Rs. 295) which has pita with largely unimpressive dips.

Melon and Fennel Martini (Rs. 395) that I have ordered to accompany the starters has a bitter after taste and is not enjoyable at all. In the mains, pan seared rawas (Rs. 655) is well cooked but otherwise bland. The side of sauteed spinach with garlic (Rs. 115) is nice and does perk up the dish a bit, but steamed greens (Rs. 115) are pointless. Grilled Pomfret (Rs. 755) is again a bit too bland for my taste. Prawns Sri Lankan Curry (Rs. 615) is competent.

The meal here is ordinary at best, and certainly not worth the money paid. Not sure I am coming back here in the near future.
