Day Three  – Kolkata Diary

The review was anonymously done after paying for the meal.

Like the earlier meal, this one too is somewhat rushed en route back to the airport. But the possibility of missing the flight does not seem important in front of another great Bengali meal with Ilish being the star yet again.

As we enter the Hathibagan Koshe Kosha barely enough to accommodate six small tables. Unlike a typical eatery in Kolkata the service here seems brisk, something that encourages me to order a lot, even though we have barely half an hour in which to order, eat, pay the bill and get out.

Food is quick to arrive with the vegetarian food for my veg colleague arriving first. Dhokar Dalna (Rs 120), Mochar Ghonto (Rs 95) and Narkel Chholar Dal (Rs 105) are all nice.

The stars of course are the fish dishes. Muri Ghonto (Rs 115) is delicious and unlike any other that I have had and Ilish Bhapa (Rs 375) was simply fabulous.

Dab Icecream (Rs 95) is good but of course Natural’s is better.

Every dish in this meal hit the spot. Truly a foodie nirvana place!
