Day Four  – Raipur Diary

The review was anonymously done after paying for the meal.

Chhatisgarh does not have its own street food, atleast not on the streets or in restaurants which are predominantly a mix of food from the neighbouring states and the north. However Chhattisgarh has a wide range of cuisines which are available at rural areas but are hardly available in the urban society.

Gadh Kaleva is a place in the heart of Raipur within the premises of Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum. The restaurant was established on 26th of January, 2016 by the state Govt here. When one tastes the food one understands why this cuisine is not popuar, since the tribal food here is pretty basic and bland as I realized after tasting it.

There are individual snacks priced at Rs 25 to Rs 38; plus there is a meal available at Rs 100. Some dishes that can be tried are cheela, farra and gulgula.

The meal has basic dal, one kadhi, and a mixed veggie with short grain rice that is abundant at Chhattisgarh and two rotis.

Recommended for hard core curious foodie adventurers.
