This review was anonymously done after paying for the meal. 

Yaki Zushi is set in a heritage Goan bungalow in Sangolda village at Goa. The interiors are distinctly Asian red, the menu is big and the food great as long as you stick to starters and seafood. Service is great by Goa standards and good by any standards. We land up here in a gang which allows me to taste lot of dishes.

We start with many soups, all of whom are exceptional, with no two soups tasting the same. Miso Soup Veg (Rs 110) is a delicious umami bomb. Tom Yum Prawn Soup (Rs 150) is authentic and tangy hot.

Hot and Sour Chicken Soup (Rs 120) is Punjabi good. Spicy Crab Meat Soup (Rs 150), the one I order for myself is deliciously piquant.

In starters, Chicken Yaki Tori (Rs 300) is good without being great. Prawn Salt and Pepper (Rs 350) and Prawn Gyoza (Rs 300) are both yum.

Chicken Satay (Rs 375) is average.

Salmon Sushi Roll (Rs 375) and Prawn Sushi Roll (Rs 350) both demonstrate the restaurant’s mastery over sushi. 

Now to the not so good food. Chilly Pork (Rs 295) is avoidable, Norwegian Salmon Sashimi (Rs 500) is still frozen.

Salmon Ceviche (Rs 700) is too sour without any character, and Prawn Ceviche (Rs 550) is rubbery.

Beef Teppenyaki (Rs 550) is mostly suboptimal teriyaki with little beef.

Crab Meat Fried Rice (Rs 300) is nice but mushy and overcooked. Pan Fried Noodles Prawn (Rs 325) is anything but Pan Fried noodles and not too good.

So if you are in Goa and in mood for light Asian food, come here. But just stick to the starters.
