Great North Karnataka Vegetarian Home Food

I had been to Nalapakka some three years ago because it was on the way to the airport. Though the food was vegetarian, somehow the taste remained with me, and so I decided to revisit it.

Food from north Karnataka is fascinating. It is a great amalgamation of cuisine from south Maharashtra (Kolhapur being the closest town), Konkan, Goa and Karnataka and this makes the food here rather exciting.

Nalapakka has only one item on the menu, and so popular is this item, it has queues resembling Andhra Bhavan in Delhi. It is the Jowar Roti Meal (Rs 165) with four chutneys, dal, many veggie dishes, jowar rotis laden with butter, curds, curried butter milk, papad, pulao, rice with sambhar and dessert, with unlimited refills.

The servers do not allow a dish to be finished and are there on your side refilling the dishes. Overseeing the whole process is the super active manager Pranesh who is on his toes the whole time.

The taste is superb. It is an amazing vegetarian meal. Of course I will be back!
