Culture Cuisine used to be a home delivery outlet, run by Gurgaon Foodie Michael Khanna, boasting of some region specific dishes not easily found in Gurgaon. Michael is now relaunching it and to keep with the season’s festivities has added some Christmas special goodies, which he sent to me for sampling.

The samples came festively wrapped. I first try the Guava cheese (Rs 600/kg). Guava cheese is a Portugese candy, made out of guava and sugar.  This one is deliciously sticky and addictive and I immediately remember Christmases spent in Goa.

The Rich Plum cake (Rs 1600/kg) looks great and tastes of the spices of the season with fruits and candy peels. It is soft and crumbly, though I would have preferred a bit more of Rum hit in the cake. Its demolished in no time by my family.

The Mulled Red wine (Rs.1550/- Indian Wine & Rs. 1950/- Foreign Wine for 700 ml bottle) is to be had warm as instructed by Michael, so I immerse it in hot water for 15 minutes. One sip of it and it feels like Christmas already, redolent with spices and fruity flavors. But it’s the Ginger non-alcoholic wine (Rs. 350 per bottle 700ml) which is a revelation, deliciously strong hit of ginger and spices and some wine-y flavour, its hard to believe its non-alcoholic.
