Mutton Curry to die for

I love mutton curries. Wherever I travel in India, I make it a point to have the local mutton curry. In my opinion, Maharashtra makes the best mutton curries in India. I have not been able to figure out which one is the best among Kolhapuri curry, Saoji curry, Khandesh curry and Kanduri curry  from Marathwada. All I know is that I can never have enough of them. And Pune is my favourite food destination because it serves all of them!

This time I choose to have Mutton Kanduri curry from Marathwada. Food from Marathwada is influenced by Nizam cuisine since these rulers also had a strong presence and influence in Beed district in Marathwada. And one place outside of Marathwada serves it best – and that is an unassuming eatery also called Marathwada situated on Wakad Chowk, Aundh- Hinjewadi road.

The food here was out of this world – not just the mutton curry but even the vegetarian food.

Pithla is out of this world and the sev bhaji is most delectable! Highly recommended.
