When I enter Perfect Catch, a small restaurant at Mahim, my first impression is that of surprise. I had read that this place is Sachin Tendulkar’s favourite restaurant. This is a really small, four table restaurant with pretty modest interiors. But when I tasted the food, it became clear. Obviously the Little Master has good taste in fish.

I start with Mixed Seafood Soup (Rs 180) which has no spices, just plain taste of the sea. It heightens the anticipation of the treasures of the sea to come. Next is the obvious choice,   (Rs 425). The dish is delicious like it normally is, but here what impresses is the freshness of prawns and the precision cooking of seafood.

Baby Rawas Grilled (Rs 650), a specialty here, is simply superb. It is really fresh and cooked just right. I enjoy this dish immensely. Calamari Chilly Fry (Rs 425) is piquant and beautifully cooked, which is difficult because it takes just a few seconds to overcook this protein.

Kundapurka Kanne Khanneka (clams with drumsticks; Rs 380) is a new, yet pleasant taste for me and pairs perfectly with soft, fluffy Neer Dosa (Rs 90 for 3).

If you like me are a seafood lover, and you have not been here so far, don’t delay any further. It is decent though modest seating, freshest of seafood, prepared just right at a most reasonable price!
