I land at 1:15 pm at Goa airport, and I have a meeting to reach at 3 PM in north Goa. So as I get into the car, I ask the driver to take me to a Goan restaurant that does not attract too many tourists but has good authentic food. So the driver, bless his heart, brings me to one green place with green surroundings.

I hop in and am greeted by one cool server who seats me. Of course as per tradition, I start the meal with the mandatory coconut feni with lime and soda. Every Goan meal must start with the feni to get the taste buds salivating. After a brief consultation with the server, I decide on the order.

The first dish to hit the table is Modso Recheado Fry (Rs 300). Modso is a local fish that I have heard of but not yet tried. The recheado masala is too sweet and not spicy enough and modso is filleted too thin for me to enjoy this dish. Prawns Butter Garlic Fry (Rs 350) has a pasty sauce but the quality of prawns is great so all one has to do is remove the sauce and enjoy the prawns.

For the mains I have chosen Shark Ambotik (Rs 240) with the catholic idli like accompaniment, Sannas (Rs 60). The chef’s sweet tooth again manifests itself in the sweet ambotik gravy which could have been spicier. But the combination of ambotik and sannas still works, and I enjoy mopping up the last bits of the curry with the rice cakes.

So if you are in a situation like me and need a quick meal enroute to a meeting in north Goa, this restaurant is an option to consider.
