I'm a closet ‘sweet tooth’ person, I tell everyone that I don’t have a sweet tooth but if an opportunity presents itself, it suddenly appears. So when we are asked to review the innovatively named Cloud bakery ‘Queen of Tarts’ I happily agree. It is Gurgaon based and currently an only-delivery outlet.

Raspberry Delish Cake (Rs 1500/1 kg and available in pastry-size also) looks like one of those elimination challenges on Masterchef Australia. Perfectly made, decorated with chocolate mousse balls, macarons, meringue and a chocolate net. When sliced, it reveals a chocolate cake topped with chocolate mousse with a raspberry centre. The soft rich mousse alternates wonderfully with the tart raspberry filling. It’s a beautiful and perfect celebration cake.

The Passion fruit tart (Rs 90 /Mini tart) looks pretty and tastes good, a chocolate tart base with chocolate filling and a passion fruit jelly inside, decorated with fondant flowers. Next is the New York Style Cheesecake (Rs 150) which has a good cheesy flavour, but it’s a bit lighter and not as dense as a perfect NY baked cheesecake is, still its a good NY style cheesecake, which can be a difficult thing to find here.

The Macarons (Rs 320/Box of 6 pc) are very good. Soft and crumbly with surprising fillings. My box has Paan flavoured macarons with a Rose filling, another with Passion fruit filling which are both delicious and one with Caramel filling which is nice too.

Honey and Almond Tart (Rs 90/Mini tart) has a tart base with a vanilla sponge and topped with generous amount of honey-coated almonds. I had seen popcorn being used for desserts (again on Masterchef) so I was curious to try their Salted Caramel PopCorn Tart (Rs 90/Mini tart). It tastes good and many interesting flavors - a chocolate short-crust pastry, then a caramel layer, then a chocolate layer topped with caramelised pop-corn and mini meringues. The crust here is just a tad hard, maybe because of mixing chocolate in it.

Apple Pie (Rs 90) has a crumbly pastry and a delicious filling. Red Velvet Brownie (Rs 70) is the only thing I don’t like that much, its bit dry and rather plain in looks and taste, it doesnt measure up to their other intricately made desserts with interesting fillings inside.

Salted Caramel Jar (Rs 130) has chocolate and caramel layers and is deliciously dense. Ginger Macademia cookies (Rs 200) have a great texture , buttery but still crunchy and a good ginger hit.

Overall, Im quite impressed by their good quality & taste and intricately made products at a reasonable price. We wish them all the best.
